Fraudfinder started life as Homeppl, a world-leading tenant check platform. Checking over half a million renters from around the world taught us something simple. Most fraud lives in the documents people send. So that's where we put all our focus.

The idea was fairer rental checks. Let people rent on their real financial data, not just a credit score.
- 2017Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars
We joined the programme and started building our own engine to check the payslips and bank statements behind every application.
- 2020 to 2021Backed by specialist investors
Seed round led by Ascension, Fair By Design and Techstars, alongside Venionaire Capital.
- 2023 to 2025Recognised by the industry
Sifted named us an early-stage startup to watch, and Everest Group listed us among the Leading 50 financial crime and compliance technology providers.
- 2025Homeppl's rental platform joins Thirdfort
We sold the rental business to Thirdfort, which still uses our document analysis for its tenant checks. Everything else became Fraudfinder.
