How it works
Fraudsters swap names, sort codes and account numbers on otherwise genuine documents. Document forensics spots the edits. Confirmation of Payee adds external validation by asking the bank whether those details belong to your applicant.
The basics
Confirmation of Payee (CoP) is the UK's name-checking service for bank accounts. You send the account name, sort code and account number, and the account holder's bank confirms whether the name matches. With Fraudfinder you get a clear match or no match, plus the reason code behind every result.
Fits your stack
Run Confirmation of Payee in reverse, to prove the account on a document really belongs to the applicant.
